What is a Talk Piece?
Talk pieces are short, thought-provoking articles from agency leaders and team members. They're conversations about what's happening in the NZ agency ecosystem: trends you're seeing, lessons learned, perspectives on industry challenges, or insights from your work.
Think of them as shop talk—what you'd discuss over coffee with peers at other agencies.
Examples from our community:
- "AI and Advice: The Next Big Financial Trend"
Octave's research on AI adoption patterns across income groups in fintech
- "The Power of Digital Partnership"
Nine principles for effective agency-client partnerships
- "The Unseen Costs of Corporate Innovation Theatre"
Why most corporate innovation initiatives fail—and what works instead
What we're looking for
- Authentic perspective:Your real take on industry trends, challenges, or what's working
- Actionable insight:Ideas or frameworks that other agencies can actually use
- 750–2000 words:Long enough to dig in, short enough to read in one sitting
- Written for peers:Less "here's why hire us," more "here's what we learned"

FAQ
Can the piece already be published elsewhere?
Yes. If you've published it on your blog, Medium, or LinkedIn, we're happy to feature it. Just include the link and we'll create a curated excerpt with full attribution.
Does it have to be about agency work?
Not necessarily. We're interested in perspectives relevant to NZ agency leaders—whether that's industry trends, team culture, client dynamics, or lessons from your specialties.
Is this a permanent spot?
We're building Talk as an ongoing community feature. If you have regular insights to share, great—submit more. If it's a one-off, that's perfect too.
Do you edit submissions?
We may lightly edit for clarity or to match our style guide, but we'll preserve your voice and run any changes by you first.
